Level 3 of the Little Chef cookbook is where your young cook really starts to feel like a proper kitchen helper. It is the next step on from Level 2, for children who are confident with the basics and ready to learn richer, more “grown‑up” techniques.
This level introduces new skills like whisking, juicing, scraping and crushing, all broken into clear, visual steps so children can follow them with you nearby for safety. Recipes still build on familiar actions such as washing, stirring and spreading, then layer in these advanced moves to strengthen hand control, coordination and concentration without losing the sense of fun. The aim is to deepen their independence and understanding of how food is made, not to chase restaurant‑perfect results.
Across the 8 recipes, children will practise making thicker batters and foams with whisking, squeezing and juicing fruit, scraping bowls and trays carefully, and crushing ingredients to release flavour, all while continuing to take real responsibility for each step. It is a level for kids who love being in the kitchen and are excited to keep learning, experimenting and proudly saying, “I made this (almost) all by myself.”
